The Pottsville Area High School's Mini THON hosted an event to help fight cancer. All of the proceeds from the event went to the Four Diamonds Fund, dedicated to conquering childhood cancer.

Caroline Gist represents Mini Thon as the president her senior year. After many years of participating, 5 years. Gist said, “This year we continued our tradition of holding a “Gold Out” basketball game. The t-shirt design for each year is different in hopes students will purchase one to wear to the event. Myself and Mini-THON members will be canning to fundraise at the game. We all do this for the kids, and one day we will beat childhood cancer.”
