Hi! I am a competitive figure skater, diver, and track athlete. I am involved in Sketch Club and Flags as well. Being on the publications staff sounded interesting because editing videos and writing are activities I enjoy.  When I’m older, I want to have a career in meteorology. I also want to model for GK.

Junior Emilee Rose stands proud while holding her new award from the media and design logo competition. Emilee won the regional competition this year and now advances to states. She said, “I found an interest in doing the competition because my brother Parker also did it.”

Pottsville Gymnastics is located on 206 N. Centre Street in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. PGTC announced that they will officially be closing on May 28, 2021. “Every Friday when i could stay for open gym and learn new skills after practice! I also could have friends with me that didn’t attend the gym,” said Taylor Fitzpatrick.

Sophomore Amaree Bainbridge is seen back in the high school. Amaree has been a virtual student before making the transition to come back to in person classes. He said, “I felt like I wasn’t learning as much at home so I came back to learn as much as possible.”

Lana Condor once again appears as the main character in the final film of “To all the Boys I Loved Before.” It was released on Netflix on February 12, 2021. Brenna Davis said, “I don’t think there was one part of the movie that I didn’t like.”

Senior Greta Snukis said,“Every year at almost every holiday, my cousins and I get a photo in front of my aunt’s door. My cousin, Allie, was unable to attend our celebration because of her being in a different state. So we put her on FaceTime and found a way to still get the photo.”

Local businesses and companies have been shut down because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Signs like this were hung on the doors of these facilities as of March 20, 2020. Toni McElvaney, owner of Rita’s, said, “Being shut down is a negative for the business owner and the employees. It’s hard to deal with because I am only a seasonal business.”
