The event was set up to draw more people to downtown Pottsville and the businesses there. “Caroling with the other Drama Club ladies on Small Business Saturday was really fun; it was pretty super to see all of Pottsville’s businesses, new and old, on the streets all decorated for the holidays,” Lonergan said.Photo courtesy of Mrs. Maria Malek Members of the Drama Club sang at different locations in downtown Pottsville. They were under the direction of Mrs. Maria Malek, English teacher and Drama Club director. “Pottsville is really booming with stores, and it’s our job to go and support their businesses so they can be successful. Caroling with the Drama Club was really fun because I got to see how many people came out to support the businesses,” Hunter said.Photo courtesy of Mrs. Maria Malek Members of the D.H.H Lengel Drama Club also caroled at the Sovereign Majestic theater. “I was pleased that the students volunteered their time, and the community response to the caroling was great,” Mrs. Malek said.
