It’s All Abstract to Me

Sixth grade students in Miss Alyssa Palina’s art class worked on projects demonstrating the techniques used in abstract art. Abstract art is a genre of art with the purpose of going outside art’s traditional customs and values.

What was your favorite abstract technique to use?

“I like the pointillism, because I feel like it makes it look better and more spread out as you go along.” Isabel Teresavage 

Do you prefer abstract art/painting over traditional painting?

“Yes. It’s cool to have the different shapes in it, and not just have it be perfect, and have everything in my imagination come to life.” Ava Ciarvella 

 

What is your favorite abstract technique to use?

“I like the graduation because you can go dark to light, and it expresses people’s emotions.” Emily Polano 

 

Why did you choose the colors you used?

“I thought the colors would look cool and unique together.” Gavin Woodward

 

Why do you like using different shapes in your work?

“I find it very interesting to see how everything can be shaped and different.” Caitlyn Peleschak

 

 

How did you decide what colors to use?

“My favorite color is purple, and I like mint and blue because they remind me of the beach.” Lauren Kelly
