My friends asked me to join and I thought it would be interesting. I always thought we had a pretty good chance of winning but I got pretty nervous in the final rounds. Now I’m just happy we get the day off to go to the capital. My favorite thing is being with my friends and there really isn’t much of a bad part.”

Daylight Savings (DST) is defined as the systematic practice of setting your clock turning ahead the clock. With that, comes a huge amount of conflicts that leave many restless with one hour of sleep missing from their circadian rhythm. Mrs. Julie Saunders said, “ I am much older, losing an hour of sleep once a year is quite inconvenient. Now that my clocks and phones change time automatically, I have little worry that I will ever miss a time change due to daylight savings time.”

Sophomore Sarah Malek performs at County Choir. She was the only student from Pottsville Area High School to be able to participate in this event. Mrs. Katie Reichard(director of bands at PAHS) said, “Having an in person festival after two years was awesome. Having the amount of people on stage was a breath of fresh air. This was my first one since being the conductor here. The director took the music to the next level and made the students better and even myself. They even had the opportunity to play instruments. Overall, they had a fun time and it was a neat experience.”

Diversity club held a conference in the little theater with Principal, Mrs. Tiffany Hummel afterschool. Members spoke with her, conveying their main issues and concerns. During the meeting she said, “What we have to do is continue this progress. I want to say, I’m on your side. I want you guys to come up with solutions for the bathroom’s. You can make your message heard by raising awareness; Conveying why something matters is something you can do as well as coming up with ideas.”
