Summer concerts come to Pennsylvania

During a Taylor Swift concert June 15, 2015, thousands of fans flash their phone lights to illuminate Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Swift performed her 1989 tour three years ago and will be performing her Reputation tour starting this summer. “I want to see Taylor Swift in concert this summer because she is a very inspiring person,” junior Samantha Day said.

One of the most popular things to do during the summer is to go see hit singers and bands in concert. Several artists are coming to the Philadelphia, Allentown, Hershey and Pittsburgh areas.

Taylor Swift: Are you ready for it? Swift will be coming to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia July 13-14 and Heinz Field in Pittsburgh August 7 for her Reputation world tour. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear hits like Look What You Made Me Do and Delicate. Swift will be joined on tour by Camila Cabello and Charlie XCX.

“I want to see Taylor Swift in concert this summer because she is a very inspiring person,” junior Samantha Day said. “I’ve loved her music since I was little. It is also cool that she was born so close to us in Wyomissing and now is known worldwide.”

Dua Lipa: Dua Lipa will be continuing her self-titled tour from 2017 into the summer of 2018. She will be playing at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre June 19. She will be joined on tour by Jack and Jack and Logan Henderson and is sure to perform her big hit New Rules.

Maroon 5: The band will be playing their Red Pill Blues Tour at the Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey July 14. They will be joined by Julia Michaels. The band will be singing hits like Wait and Cold.

Country

Luke Bryan: Bryan will be performing his What Makes You Country tour this summer. He will be coming to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh June 30. Bryan is sure to play hits like I Don’t Want This Night To End and Light It Up.

Kenny Chesney: Chesney’s Trip Around the Sun tour is set to hit Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia June 9. He will be joined by Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion and Brandon Lay. Chesney’s hits Reality and Summertime are sure to be played along with Rhett’s Life Changes and Die A Happy Man.

Little Big Town: The band will be performing The Bandwagon tour in Burgettstown at the KeyBank Pavilion August 17. They will be joined by Miranda Lambert. They will be playing hits off of Little Big Town’s The Breaker album such as Better Man and When Someone Stops Loving You.

Imagine Dragons: The band’s Evolve tour will be coming to Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey June 16. Grace VanderWaal, winner of America’s Got Talent, will be touring with band. You can expect to hear hits like Whatever It Takes and Thunder.

Def Leppard and Journey: The two groups will be playing at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia June 11. You are sure to hear one of Journey’s hits, Don’t Stop Believing, and one of Def Leppard’s hits Rock of Ages.

Foo Fighters: The band will be playing their Concrete and Gold tour at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh July 19. The Struts will be along on the tour as well. Hits off of the album that are expected to be played are Run and The Sky is a Neighborhood.

Beyonce and Jay-Z: The husband-wife duo will performing the Beyhive tour at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia July 30. You can expect the two to perform hits such as Drunk in Love and Crazy in Love.

Justin Timberlake: Timberlake will be performing The Man Of The Woods tour at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia June 2. Songs off of his The Man Of The Woods album will be performed such as Say Something Hers (interlude).

Ne-Yo: Ne-Yo will be performing his self-titled tour along with Lyfe Jennings. He will be playing at the Dell Music Center in Philadelphia July 22. He will be performing songs off of his most recent release Good Man, such as Good Man and PUSH BACK.

The Championship Tour: This show includes Kendrick Lamar, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab Soul, SIR and Lance Skiiiwalker. The group will be coming to Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey June 2. Songs from each artist will be performed.

“I want to go see The Championship Tour because a lot of my favorite rappers are going to be on the tour,” sophomore Tiana Green said.

Wiz Khalifa and Rae Sremmurd: The two, along with Lil Skies and O.T. Genasis, will be performing the Dazed and Blazed tour at KeyBank Pavilion in Burgettstown July 26. Songs from Wiz Khalifa, such as Captain and Real Rich, will be performed, as well as Rae Sremmurd’s latest hits such as Powerglide and T’d Up.

The Roots Picnic: This music festival at Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia June 2 features several rap, R&B and hip-hop artists, including The Roots, Dave Chappelle, Lil Uzi Vert, Dirty Projectors, The Diplomats, 2 Chainz, 6LACK, DVSN, Brandy, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Rapsody, Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, GoldLink, Badbadnotgood and DJ Drama.
