When you think of teachers, you might assume they spend their summers off relaxing by the pool all day. Lots of students aren’t aware of it, but many of our teachers have jobs they work over the summer and even throughout the school year.

Mrs. Miller: delivers groceries

Mrs. Clemson: waitress

Mrs. Fehr: private tutoring and Schuylkill Achieve

Miss Shappell: softball coach and Schuylkill Achieve

Mrs. Lombel: cross country coach and Schuylkill Achieve

Mrs. Houtz: private music lessons

Mr. Shaffer: football coach

Miss Palina: waitress

Mrs. Reichard: private music lessons

Mr. Schuettler: swimming coach and pool manager

Ms. McGinley: 22 years of cross country coach (recently retired from coaching)

While these are just some of the teachers I interviewed, there are lots of others who have second jobs as well, so don’t be surprised if you see them working outside of school!
