Students prepare poetry for the poetry contest titled, “Pottsville in Every Season” sponsored by the yearbook publications staff. The contest runs from Monday, January 24th and ends on February 9th. “We are very excited to bring this new aspect to our yearbook to highlight the artistic talents of Pottsville High students. This new addition will include more students and their creativity to our Tidelines!” said Dr. Ali Hobbs.

Caroline Gist represents Mini Thon as the president her senior year. After many years of participating, 5 years. Gist said, “This year we continued our tradition of holding a “Gold Out” basketball game. The t-shirt design for each year is different in hopes students will purchase one to wear to the event. Myself and Mini-THON members will be canning to fundraise at the game. We all do this for the kids, and one day we will beat childhood cancer.”

Stage band rehearses every Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the bandroom. Some songs the students are playing include Moanin’, Higher Ground, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, and Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing, and more to come. Junior Angelina Madonna said, “I think people should join stage band because it gives everyone an opportunity to play a different genre of music that is really fun. I hope to become a more skilled player.”
